Jon is the father of this clan. He was born in December of 1974. The family was surprised when he showed up seven years after his last sister! He grew up outside of Montrose, PA and went to school there. For college he went off to Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, FL to earn his degree in computer science. Jon now works for the East Jordan Iron Works in East Jordan, MI where he is a programmer/analyst, database administrator and Cognos administrator. Some of the technologies he works with include Java, Web Services, SOA, Prototype/Script.aculo.us, AJAX, RPG/ILE and Cognos 8.
He became a Christian when he was five years old. His Grandma Transue explained to him from the Bible that God and Heaven were perfect, and that he was a sinner, therefore he could not enter Heaven on his own. But God loved him so much that He sent is only Son, Jesus, to take his penalty for sin by dying on the cross. All he had to do was accept God's free gift of eternal life and allow Jesus to be Lord of his life. Jon did this as a small child, but grew up with no real difference evident in his life. Toward the end of his college career, he began to consider that he would be out on his own soon and needed to decide whether he was going to live his life for himself or for God. It was at this time that he repented of his sins and going his own way and dedicated his life to the Lord.
He enjoys being involved at church, rough-housing with the kids, chopping wood, being Mr. Fix-it, and when he has time - reading. Shopping is definitely not on his favorites list!
