The Bluegrass-Appalachian Regional Committee of Narcotics Anonymous ( BARCNA) is a service body whose primary purpose is to pool together and develop resources that can be used by areas and groups within the Bluegrass-Appalachian Region in better fulfilling their responsibilities. The Bluegrass-Appalachian Region was formed in March 2002. It consists of four areas: Grass Roots Area (with meetings in Grundy, Va.; Hazard; Hyden; Maytown/Langley; Pikeville; and Prestonsburg), Kentucky Survivors Area (with meetings in Frankfort; Lexington; Richmond; and Winchester), Kentucky’s Heartland Area (with meetings in Bardstown; Campbellsville; Danville; and Lebanon), and Southern Kentucky Serenity Area (with meetings in London; Monticello; Mt. Vernon; and Somerset). BARCNA serves three basic functions: First, to unify and to provide help and support to its member areas; second, to carry the Narcotics Anonymous message of recovery through its various subcommittees; and third, to contribute to the growth and enhancement of the quality of Narcotics Anonymous as a whole by giving support to the area service committees of its members.
The RSC meeting is held regularly on the third
Sunday of each month at 2:00 p.m, and is hosted
by the member areas on a rotating basis. All
addicts who are interested are encouraged to attend.
