What is DSL? A digital subscriber line (DSL) connection is a very high-speed connection using the same wires as a regular telephone line. This special connection lets you make regular telephone calls. This means you can leave your Internet connection open and still use your phone line for voice calls! No more lost calls.

DSL technology supplies the necessary bandwidth for numerous applications. With speeds up to 6 Megabits per second, DSL surpasses cable and T1 for available download bandwidth. The faster speed enables users to access streaming multimedia presentations, download files, and perform research with more efficiency than on a standard 56k modem.

DSL takes an ordinary telephone line and turns it into a high-speed data connection. Due to the nature of the technology, the closer your location is to the central office, the faster speeds will be available. In some cases the condition of the wires in the street will not support DSL services to your facility, although this will not be known until halfway into the order process. Fortunately, this is the exception, and not the rule.
